Reza Pahlavi— head of the Pahlavi dynasty, heir to the Iranian throne, and a leading figure in the Iranian opposition—has arrived in Odessa to participate in the Black Sea Security Forum. This was reported on May 30 by the event’s press service, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
On Saturday, Reza Pahlavi will participate in the forum, which is taking place in Odessa and brings together politicians, diplomats, military officials, and experts from various countries around the world.
According to Oleksiy Goncharenko, founder and chairman of the Black Sea Security Forum, Reza Pahlavi’s visit indicates that the opposition to the current Iranian regime remains active.
“Reza Pahlavi is the son of Iran’s last shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. After the 1979 Islamic Revolution, his family was forced to leave the country. Since then, he has become one of the most prominent figures of the Iranian democratic opposition and actively advocates for political change in Iran,” the report states.
The Black Sea Security Forum will last three days, from May 29 to 31. This year, the event is taking place at the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. It has brought together over 1,200 participants from Ukraine, Europe, the United States, and other countries around the world. The forum is being held for the third consecutive year.
