The Lithuanian Embassy in Kyiv was damaged in an attack by the Russian Federation

During Russia’s massive attack on Kyiv on the night of August 1, the Lithuanian Embassy building in Ukraine was damaged. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a post by Ukraine’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sibiga on the social media platform X.
“As a result of the massive Russian attack on Kyiv, the Lithuanian Embassy building sustained minor damage. Fortunately, none of the staff were injured,” Sibiga said.
He noted that Russian terror spares no one and does not respect any international norms, in particular the provisions of the Vienna Convention. And it can only be stopped by force and sufficient air defense capabilities.
“We express our solidarity with Lithuania, my colleague Kęstutis Budrys, Ambassador Inga Stanitė-Toločkienė, and all our friends at the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are ready to provide all necessary assistance,” the minister added.
As a reminder, on the night of August 1, Russia attacked Ukraine with 35 missiles and 185 strike drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down only 1 ballistic missile out of 27.
