Pepco, one of Europe’s leading general-merchandise discounters, has officially confirmed that Respublika Park and Retroville will be the first shopping and entertainment centers in Kyiv to host the chain’s stores as part of its planned entry into the Ukrainian market. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Ukrainian Retailers Association.
The locations were chosen for their popularity among shoppers, high foot traffic, convenient transportation access, and family-friendly atmosphere—Pepco’s key target audience.

The store at Respublika Park will cover nearly 450 square meters, while the one at Retroville will be approximately 600 square meters. The stores will feature Pepco’s wide range of products at affordable prices: clothing, home goods, children’s items, toys, and seasonal new arrivals.
Pepco had previously announced plans to launch operations in Ukraine in the second half of 2026 and open its first stores in Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, and Mukachevo.
“Choosing the right locations is one of the most important decisions when entering a new market. Respublika Park and Retroville are among Kyiv’s leading shopping centers, attracting a diverse audience, offering convenient locations, and providing a comfortable environment for family shopping. That is why they are the ideal choice for Pepco, as they will allow us to make our value proposition accessible to the widest possible range of Ukrainian consumers,” said Arsen Starchenko, Country Manager, Pepco Ukraine.
The Pepco brand’s product range is designed with families’ everyday needs in mind. Across Europe, the chain serves approximately 36 million shoppers each month in over 4,000 stores across 19 countries. Ukraine will become the company’s 20th market, marking another step in the implementation of its strategy of controlled expansion in Central and Eastern Europe.
The opening of the first locations in Kyiv is part of Pepco’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Ukraine. Along with the store openings, the company continues to recruit local employees and build operational capabilities, laying the groundwork for gradual and sustainable growth in the new market.
As a reminder, the consulting firm Retail&Development Advisor (RDA), which serves as Pepco’s official exclusive representative in Ukraine, is responsible for identifying the best locations for the international retailer. “I would like to sincerely thank the teams at the Respublika and Retroville shopping centers for their openness, professionalism, and fruitful cooperation, and the Pepco team for their trust in our company and our joint efforts to bring the brand to the Ukrainian market. I am confident that shoppers will appreciate the format and product range of the stores, and that the opening of the first locations in Kyiv will mark the beginning of the chain’s successful expansion throughout Ukraine,” commented Andriy Lototsky, CEO of RDA.
