1 August 18:03

On August 1, Russian troops attacked warehouses on the outskirts of Brovary with drones. One person was killed in the strike, and there are also other casualties.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the press service of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Online reports suggest that the warehouses in question belong to the online hypermarket ROZETKA.

“Under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the commission of a war crime resulting in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the statement reads.

According to the prosecutor’s office, at approximately 11:28 a.m. today, a 61-year-old man was killed in the city of Brovary on the premises of the marketplace as a result of an attack by an enemy rocket-powered unmanned aerial vehicle. Six other people were injured. One of the victims is in critical condition with multiple injuries; the others are receiving outpatient treatment after receiving medical care.

Thirteen cars were also damaged.

“Prosecutors, together with investigators and other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of yet another war crime committed by the Russian Federation’s armed forces,” the prosecutor’s office stated.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

There were 270 people inside the ROZETKA warehouse at the time of the strike.

Company co-founder Iryna Chechotkina reported that one employee was killed as a result of the shelling. Seven others are in the hospital, including one man in critical condition.

“We will provide the victims and their families with medical, psychological, and financial assistance. Unfortunately, nothing can bring a person back to life. All our thoughts and condolences go out to the family. Everything else—we will rebuild and restore. ROZETKA is still operating,” the statement reads.

As a reminder, on the night of August 1, Russia attacked Ukraine with 35 missiles and 185 strike drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down only 1 ballistic missile out of 27.
