Out of 300 pallets, 130 were saved: Russia attacked a WHO warehouse in Dnipro

A Russian strike on Dnipro destroyed a World Health Organization (WHO) humanitarian warehouse where medical supplies were stored, intended primarily for medical facilities in frontline regions. Organization staff managed to remove part of the cargo shortly before the attack, but more than half of the supplies remained in the warehouse.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reported the destruction of the facility, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
He emphasized that no organization staff were injured as a result of the strike.
Of the nearly 300 pallets, 130 were evacuated in time
At the time of the evacuation, there were about 300 pallets of medical supplies at the humanitarian warehouse.
The WHO team, together with drivers, was able to remove 130 pallets. Everyone had left the area before the strike.
Thus, at the time of the attack, there may have been about 170 pallets of medical supplies remaining at the facility.
According to the WHO, the warehouse was used to store humanitarian medical supplies intended for healthcare facilities near the front lines. A significant portion consisted of supplies for providing emergency medical care.
The WHO Director-General responded to the destruction of the warehouse
Following the attack, the WHO Director-General called for an end to strikes on the healthcare system.
He said that attacks on medical infrastructure deprive people of access to vital care.
“Attacks on healthcare must stop. Otherwise, people are deprived of vital medical care,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
He also emphasized the need to protect the healthcare sector during wartime.
“Even wars have rules. One of them is that healthcare must be protected,” added the WHO director-general.
WHO has recorded more than 3,000 attacks on healthcare facilities
According to the organization, 3,148 attacks on the healthcare system have been documented since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
The WHO reports 240 deaths and 1,055 injuries resulting from these incidents.
The destruction of the humanitarian warehouse in Dnipro could have a particularly significant impact on the supply of medical facilities located closer to the front lines, as a significant portion of the supplies was intended for them.
Russian strikes have previously damaged the humanitarian infrastructure of international organizations in Dnipro. In particular, in May 2026, a Russian strike destroyed approximately 900 pallets of UNHCR humanitarian aid worth over $1 million, which was intended for displaced persons and war-affected residents of frontline regions.
