President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated the Ukrainian people on Independence Day, wishing them to find their own answer to the challenges of the times and the path of truly independent development. The text is published on the website of the press service of the head of state, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
He noted that “living in peace and harmony” has long been the destiny of the Ukrainian and Belarusian peoples. The close coexistence has determined the unbreakable blood ties, which are fixed by historical fate, Christian values and friendship, Lukashenko emphasized.
“No matter how much external forces pull the countries in different directions, Belarus will remain open to Ukrainians, and Minsk will be committed to mutually beneficial cooperation and constructive dialogue,” Lukashenko said.
“I sincerely wish the citizens of Ukraine to find their own answer to today’s challenges, and I wish your multinational country peaceful skies, solidarity, and truly independent development,” the address reads.
