During a massive nighttime attack by Russian occupation forces on June 15, Nova Poshta’s largest state-of-the-art terminal in Kyiv was destroyed. According to the company, no one was injured, all employees are safe, and backup operating procedures have already been activated. Yevhen Tafiychuk, CEO of Nova Poshta, reported on the consequences of the strike, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian"
What happened to the Nova Poshta terminal in Kyiv
According to Yevhen Tafiychuk, the company’s largest innovative terminal in the capital was destroyed as a result of another Russian missile attack.
It was a special sorting center for Nova Poshta—the first terminal in Ukraine equipped with state-of-the-art automatic parcel sorting equipment from Vanderlande.
“This is a special sorting center. It is the first terminal in Ukraine equipped with the world’s most advanced parcel sorting equipment from Vanderlande. A symbol of our development, bold investments in the future, innovation, Lean culture, and our daily drive to become better,” Tafiychuk noted.
No injuries
Despite the extensive damage, the company emphasized that no employees were injured.
According to Tafiychuk, all employees are safe, and the company has already activated backup operating procedures. This should help minimize the impact of the attack on logistics and parcel delivery.
“Today, the enemy destroyed the terminal. But it cannot destroy what matters most—the people who built it and the values upon which our company is founded,” emphasized the CEO of Nova Poshta.

What the Kyiv Innovation Terminal Was Like
Nova Poshta’s Kyiv Innovation Terminal officially opened on March 2, 2018. At the time of its launch, it was Ukraine’s first sorting terminal with an automated line of this caliber.
The terminal covered an area of approximately 14,800 square meters. Its capacity allowed it to process up to 20,000 shipments per hour.
Construction of the Kyiv Innovation Terminal began in 2015. The total investment in the project amounted to approximately 15 million euros.
Why this terminal was important for the company
The Kyiv Innovation Terminal was one of Nova Poshta’s key logistics facilities. It handled large volumes of shipments, and the automated equipment helped speed up parcel sorting and reduce the workload on employees.
For the company, this facility was not only an infrastructure asset but also a symbol of technological development in Ukrainian logistics.
Nova Poshta launches backup plans
Following the destruction of the terminal, the company announced the launch of backup operations. This means that some operations may be redistributed among other sorting centers and logistics facilities.
The company did not specify how much the attack might affect delivery times, but emphasized that the team is working to maintain service stability.
Russia has already attacked Nova Poshta facilities
This is not the first time Russia has struck at Nova Poshta’s infrastructure. Earlier, Russian troops attacked the company’s innovative terminal in Dnipro. Also in June, a Nova Poshta terminal in Zaporizhzhia was damaged: at that time, according to the company, employees were in shelters and were unharmed.
In addition, the company’s depot in Kharkiv was damaged as a result of Russian attacks.
