The top 10 wholesale companies received nearly 700 billion hryvnias: who are the leaders?

13 May 12:57

The 10 leading companies in the wholesale trade sector generated 697.27 billion hryvnia in revenue, a 23% increase from the previous year. This was reported by OpenDataBot, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

It is noted that the “entry ticket” to the top ten has also become more expensive: while last year UAH 38 billion in revenue was enough to make the ranking, now it is nearly UAH 43 billion.

“The fuel sector has the most companies in the top ten—three in total. The tobacco, pharmaceutical, and metallurgical sectors each have two representatives. However, the food sector is represented by only one company this year, according to the analysis,” the report states.

According to the study, DL Solution, a tobacco products retailer, has held the top spot for the second year in a row.

The company increased its revenue by 30%—to 114.07 billion UAH—and its profit grew 7.6-fold, exceeding 811 million UAH. The company is part of the DL Solution financial and industrial group (FPG).

“At the same time, a newcomer to the ranking—Donpromtrans, part of Rinat Akhmetov’s SCM Group—has burst into second place. In early 2025, the company changed its business profile: instead of construction, it shifted to the non-specialized wholesale trade sector,” reports OpenDataBot.

The company’s revenue for the year grew 9.5-fold—to 98.1 billion UAH—and its profit grew 16-fold—to 1.43 billion UAH. This is the biggest leap among all companies, analysts emphasize.

According to them, Okko-Express, which has consistently ranked second in recent years, has dropped to third place this time. Despite a 14% increase in revenue—to 85.15 billion UAH—the company’s profit fell by nearly a third, amounting to 428 million UAH. The company is part of the OKKO Group financial and industrial group.

“For the third year in a row, the pharmaceutical company BaDM has held the 4th place. The company, which is part of the BADM financial and industrial group, managed to increase revenue by 6%—to 72.21 billion UAH—but ended the year with a loss of 2.75 billion UAH. For comparison: in 2024, the company had over 4.56 billion UAH in profit,” the report states.

Another pharmaceutical company, Optima-Pharm, with a 2% increase in revenue, dropped from third to fifth place. Last year, the company earned UAH 70.94 billion in revenue, while its profit more than halved to UAH 1.67 billion.

However, even so, it was Optima-Pharm, part of the Gubsky family’s group of companies, that became the most profitable company in the top ten, experts note.

According to them, Philip Morris dropped to sixth place this year. Its revenue grew by 19%—to 61.77 billion UAH—and its profit doubled, exceeding 611 million UAH.

“MHP, which belongs to the MHP financial-industrial group of the same name, retained seventh place and increased its revenue by 23% to 57.75 billion UAH. However, it ended the year with a loss of 1 billion UAH, compared to a profit of 1.2 billion UAH in 2024,” the report states.

According to the study, Petrol Partner (WOG), part of the Continuum Group, dropped two spots and ranked eighth. The company’s revenue grew by 5% to UAH 51.46 billion, while profit fell from nearly UAH 1 billion to UAH 85 million.

“Meanwhile, Ukrpaletsystem (UPG) retained its ninth position and managed not only to increase revenue by 12% to 43.2 billion UAH but also to quadruple its profit to 79 million UAH. The company is part of the UPJ financial and industrial group,” reports OpenDataBot.

Rounding out the top ten is another SCM Group company—Metinvest-SMZ, which managed to increase its revenue by 13% to 42.63 billion UAH. At the same time, profit decreased by another 27% to 349 million UAH, according to the analysis.
