Meta has opened its grant program for Ukrainian developers and promises grants of up to half a million dollars

Ukrainian AI solution developers that join the Llama Impact Grants program can receive up to $500 thousand in grants and mentoring support from Meta. This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science, and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

He reminded that the program operates in 20 countries, and this year, following a request from the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Meta opened the program for Ukrainian developers. The company has even extended the deadline to December 1 for our developers to participate in the program.

As the official emphasized, Llama Impact Grants is an opportunity to represent Ukraine in the international technology arena. And those developers who have an effective Llama-based solution can join the program by following the link.

The application deadline for the Llama 3.1 Impact Grant has been extended to 23:59 Pacific Time on December 1, 2024.

What is known about the Llama Impact Grants program

The program focuses on innovative solutions for economic development, education, science, innovation, and public services based on the Llama large-scale language model.

According to the program’s website, recent breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, particularly generative artificial intelligence, have demonstrated that they can help communities create a new era of economic and social opportunity, as well as provide individuals, creators, and organizations with new ways to express themselves and connect with people.

The first Llama Impact Grants program was launched in October 2023. It was dedicated to finding innovative proposals from around the world that used Llama’s open-source artificial intelligence models to solve major problems in education, the environment, and technological innovation. The first winners have already been selected.

The next grant program is open primarily to individuals affiliated with a valid business, non-profit organization, academic institution, or research institute that has been operating for at least one year.
