Microsoft has officially announced the end of support for Windows 11 version 23H2 in Home and Pro editions. Starting November 11, 2025, these builds will no longer receive monthly security patches and preliminary updates containing protection against current cyber threats, 3DNews reports, "Komersant Ukrainian".
The company has previously warned users three times about the upcoming end of the support cycle – in August, September, and October 2025 – and strongly recommended that they update their systems to the current version. At the same time, the enterprise editions of the OS – Windows 11 Enterprise, Education and IoT Enterprise 23H2 – will retain full support until November 2026.
Microsoft encourages users to upgrade to Windows 11 25H2, which was released in September 2025. The update is distributed in the format of an extended support package, and its life cycle will last until October 2027.
The update is available to all compatible devices when the “Get the latest updates as they become available” option in Windows Update is enabled. You can check for installation manually in Settings – Windows Update – Check for updates.
For devices running Windows 11 Home and Pro without corporate IT administration, the update will be installed automatically. At the same time, users retain the ability to reschedule the installation and choose a convenient time to reboot the system.
