Moscow Was Hit by a Massive Drone Attack: What Are the Consequences?
16 August 06:17
On the night of August 16, drones launched a massive attack on Moscow—within a few hours, at least 76 drones had already been shot down over the city and the surrounding region. RBC-Ukraine reported this, citing Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The attack on Moscow lasted several hours straight, and Sobyanin reported new drones being shot down practically every hour. At first, he reported seven drones shot down as they flew toward the city, and just a few minutes later—five more.
The numbers then began to rise even faster: first eight drones, then another eight, followed by ten, twelve, and fifteen.
As of 4:05 a.m., the total number of downed drones, according to the mayor’s official figures, had reached at least 76—the attack is still ongoing, and Sobyanin continues to update the figures. According to him, emergency response specialists are working around the clock at the crash sites.
Meanwhile, reports have surfaced online about a possible strike in the Kaledino area—the location of one of Wildberries’ logistics complexes.
