Ukrainian apple exporters have changed their logistics due to the crisis in the Persian Gulf

The conflict in the Persian Gulf region and shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have forced Ukrainian apple exporters to urgently seek alternative routes to deliver their products to customers. This was reported by [Komersant], citing AgroTimes.

Vladimir Gurzhiy, head of USPA Fruit, said that after the crisis began, shipments were temporarily halted until the companies established new routes. The delivery method involves shipping through the Saudi port of Jeddah, followed by overland transport across the desert to Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE. A fully road-based route is also being used—refrigerated trucks from Vinnytsia to Dubai.

The change in logistics chains has significantly impacted the economics of supply: the cost of delivery has increased by several thousand dollars for each 20-metric-ton shipment of apples.
