Enemy attack on Kyiv: Fires have broken out; there are casualties

On the night of August 16, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of ballistic missiles. A non-residential building caught fire in the Obolon district; one person was injured, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The air raid alert in Kyiv was declared due to the threat of ballistic missile attacks—residents of the capital were urged to immediately head to shelters and remain there until the alert was lifted.
Soon after, the first consequences of the attack became known: a fire broke out in a non-residential building in the Obolon district.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko provided further details: in the Obolon district, falling debris caused fires in non-residential buildings at two separate addresses, and several cars caught fire near one of them. Another fire was reported in the Holosiivskyi district— a non-residential building complex is on fire there.
It was later reported that one person was injured. Emergency services continue to work to address the aftermath of the enemy attack.
This attack was a continuation of a large-scale nighttime strike on several regions of Ukraine. At the same time, media outlets reported explosions in Poltava and Dnipro, while Kryvyi Rih came under a combined attack by ballistic missiles and drones.
