Operation “Forrest Gump”: NABU has released a snippet of a conversation between individuals implicated in the new investigation

Following an announcement of a special operation to expose a criminal organization involving current and former members of the Ukrainian Parliament, high-ranking officials from the Office of the President of Ukraine, and other individuals, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau released a 47-second video clip containing recordings of intercepted conversations among alleged participants in the scheme, according to  "Komersant Ukrainian".

In the audio recordings, those implicated in the investigation discuss the transfer of money and mention the Office of the President.

— We’re saving the Ryan family, right? But only an idiot would pin the theft of money and the payment for their education on his own children. That’s why Forrest Gump

– Do you know who’s in charge? Are you ready to confess to everything? Turn yourself in, as they say.

– Yes

– Well, there are four bags of money

– Holy shit! If we do this, it’s just f**ked up. You can go to the president’s office yourselves, on your own. Trust me on this. I can see it coming,” the recording says.

As previously reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" , the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office announced on the morning of Wednesday, August 19, that they were conducting a special operation to expose a criminal organization. According to the statement from the anti-corruption agencies, the organization operated under the leadership of current and former members of the Ukrainian Parliament, with the participation of high-ranking officials from the Office of the President of Ukraine and other individuals. Later, some members of parliament reported that the investigative actions concern the deputy head of the President’s Office, Iryna Mudra; Vadym Stolar, a member of parliament from the former “OPZZh” party; and former MP Maksym Mykytas. Additionally, according to media reports, officials from the Ministry of Justice and representatives of “Sens Bank” are also implicated in the case.
