The Pentagon has released a new batch of documents on UFOs

The U.S. Department of Defense has released a fourth batch of declassified materials on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). A special page on the Pentagon’s website features 40 new files: 14 documents, 19 video recordings, four audio files, and three images. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Reuters.

The materials were provided by the Pentagon, NASA, the CIA, the FBI, and the U.S. Department of Energy. Nearly half of them are dated 2010 or later. Most of the material consists of infrared footage from military cameras showing unidentified objects over the western Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Middle East.

Among the most notable documents is a U.S. Department of Energy report on an unknown object entering the airspace above the Pantex nuclear facility in Texas in September 2015. According to the document, two officers in a car pursued the object after surrounding the area. They later stopped the car and got out, but heard no sounds and could not make out any engines on the object, even through binoculars. The observation lasted one to two minutes, after which the object flew away.

The published archive also includes a video filmed from aboard a civilian aircraft in 2019. The accompanying report notes that the object exhibited “flight characteristics unlike anything the observer had seen in 28 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and Navy.” It is described as a small object moving in a straight line at high speed. Another recording, made in 2020 from a military platform, shows a “dark burgundy object about 12–15 feet high” (3.7–4.6 meters) drifting with the wind without maneuvering and, according to observers, resembling a large, misshapen balloon.

The most recent footage dates back to 2025. One of the reports from U.S. Indo-Pacific Command describes an 18-second video clip in which a military sensor captures “an area of contrast resembling a six-pointed star.” Another document contains a five-minute recording of a rapidly moving object.

The release of the archives is being carried out pursuant to an order by U.S. President Donald Trump, who in February 2026 directed the declassification of government materials related to UFOs.

The first three batches of documents were released in May and June. As the Pentagon emphasizes, during the preparation of the materials, only information that could identify witnesses, reveal the locations of government facilities, or disclose other confidential information was redacted.
