Political analyst Magda criticizes Trump’s “plan” for Ukraine: how the document ignores Ukrainian interests and war victims

In an interview for the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian", political scientist and director of the Institute of World Policy Yevhen Magda sharply criticized Donald Trump’s “28-point plan” to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to the expert, the document was created without the participation of Ukraine and does not take into account either Ukrainian interests or the scale of the tragedy caused by Russian aggression.

Magda emphasized that the plan does not actually include tens or hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian victims, and he called some proposals, including a possible amnesty for war participants and war criminals, legally and morally unacceptable.

“What lawyer advised Trump to include this? I’d like to see it,” the expert said, adding that such initiatives contradict international law.

The political analyst also emphasized that the authors of the document – people from Trump’s entourage – demonstrate a lack of understanding of both Ukraine and Russia.

“They simply do not understand what Ukraine is and what Russia is. Because in this regard, there is Russia, which undertakes to kill not a thousand Ukrainians, but a hundred,” he said ironically.

Magda summarized that the main challenge for Ukraine in its dialogue with American partners will be the need to break the logic of the plan, which was drawn up without the Ukrainian voice and without taking into account the real consequences of Russian aggression.
