Strawberries are getting cheaper in Ukraine: what is the price now?
22 May 15:08
In Ukraine, prices for strawberries from local farms began to fall this week, according to analysts from the EastFruit project, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
Experts cite the rapid increase in the supply of this berry from producers in western regions as the main reason for this situation. At the same time, buyer demand remains subdued. As a result, amid fierce competition, growers are forced to gradually lower prices for available volumes of perishable produce.

Just before last weekend, farmers refused to sell greenhouse strawberries for less than 200–260 UAH/kg ($4.52–5.88/kg). However, at the start of this week, when southern and western regions began harvesting this berry from plastic greenhouses, wholesale prices immediately dropped by 14%—to 170–230 UAH/kg ($3.84–5.20/kg).
At the same time, it is worth noting that the supply of local strawberries on the Ukrainian market has not yet peaked, and the main harvest will begin early next month.
Despite the price drop, as of today, these berries in Ukraine are being sold on average 32% more expensively than during the same period last year.
