Trump and Xi also discussed the issue of the Ukrainian-Russian war during their meeting in Beijing. The U.S. president noted that “this is an issue we would like to resolve.” “Everything looked good until last night, but last night they (Ukraine – IF-U) took a serious hit.” He called this unfortunate and once again expressed confidence that it (peace talks – IF-U) would take place.
Later, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that Xi Jinping had accepted Trump’s invitation and would make an official visit to the U.S. this fall.
