The tragedy in Poltava on 3 September: what is known about the causes

Yuriy Butusov, editor-in-chief of Censor.NET, believes that the deaths on 3 September were the fault of the authorities.

“Not a single leader has been punished for the attacks on the barracks in Yavoriv, Mykolaiv, and Desna, where there were mass casualties. Therefore, it is not surprising that mass gatherings continue. There is no accountability, no analysis, and the mistakes from which the authorities do not learn lessons continue and the victims multiply,” Butusov wrote.

According to him, the enemy agent found out about the mass gathering, and someone immediately posted a video of the results of the strike. This person probably works for the enemy and controls the results.

Butusov stressed that until a leader is demonstratively punished for neglecting security measures – loss of rank and a real prison term for negligence with severe consequences – there is no hope that such tragedies will not happen again.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian MP Mariana Bezugla claims that the attack on the military communications institute in Poltava took place during the formation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Poltava. The formation of the 128th Brigade taught us nothing, no one was punished, (former Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeriy) Zaluzhny, (Armed Forces Chief Oleksandr) Syrsky, (Armed Forces Commander Oleksandr) Pavlyuk ‘solved’ everything then. We have a repetition of tragedies. Where is the limit?” Bezugla said.

russia struck at Poltava: what propagandists are saying

Russian propaganda media are trying to to convince the worldthat the Russian Armed Forces attacked the location of mobilised Ukrainians who were to go to the Pokrovsk frontline. They claim that the Russian military, which fired the missiles at the educational institution in Poltava (according to their version, a military unit was located there), received all the necessary information from a local informant. In particular, the unnamed person allegedly told the Russian Armed Forces not only the exact coordinates, but also the approximate schedule at the university.
