Russia attacked the power grid in four regions: where new power outages occurred

Russian occupation forces have launched new attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. As a result of the shelling, consumers in four regions were left without power as of Monday morning, July 27.
This was reported by NEC “Ukrenergo, ” according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
The company noted that repair crews are already working on the damaged facilities wherever the security situation allows.
Which regions lost power after the Russian attacks
Due to Russian shelling, new power outages occurred in the following regions:
- Donetsk Oblast;
- Dnipropetrovsk Oblast;
- Kharkiv Oblast;
- Sumy Oblast.
Utility workers are trying to restore equipment damaged by the attacks as quickly as possible. However, the timeline for restoration depends on the extent of the damage and the security situation in each area.
Ukrenergo emphasized that emergency repair work is being carried out in all locations accessible to specialists.
Will rolling blackouts be implemented on July 27?
The statement primarily refers to emergency power outages caused by hostilities. This does not mean that nationwide hourly power outage schedules will automatically be implemented.
Information about possible power supply restrictions in a specific region should be checked on the official websites of the local distribution system operator.
In some regions, decisions regarding the schedules may change throughout the day depending on the balance in the power grid and the consequences of attacks.
Electricity consumption fell by nearly 4%
As of the morning of July 27, electricity consumption in Ukraine was 3.8% lower than at the same time on the previous business day—Friday, July 24.
Ukrenergo attributed this to clear weather in most regions. Under such conditions, residential solar power plants operate more efficiently, so some households consume less electricity from the main grid.
The decrease in demand helps the power grid during peak solar power generation hours, but it does not eliminate the effects of localized grid damage.

When Is the Best Time to Use High-Powered Electrical Appliances?
Energy officials have urged Ukrainians to shift the use of energy-intensive appliances to the period between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
It is during this time that industrial and residential solar power plants generate the most electricity. This allows for a more even distribution of the load on the system.
During the daytime, it is recommended to use:
- washing machines and dishwashers;
- water heaters;
- air conditioners;
- electric heaters;
- other high-power appliances.
It is especially important not to turn on several energy-intensive devices at the same time in the evening, when solar power generation drops sharply.
Russia Attacked Ukraine with 147 Drones
On the night of July 27, Russian forces carried out a massive air attack on Ukraine. According to the Air Force, the enemy deployed 147 drones of various types, including Shahed attack drones, jet-powered drones, “Gerberas,” “Italmas,” and decoy drones.
Defense forces neutralized 123 aerial targets. At the same time, 21 strike drones were recorded as having struck ten locations, and debris from downed drones was found at seven locations.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups were deployed to repel the attack.
