The radiation situation at the CSFSF site remains within normal limits, according to NAEK “Energoatom.”

“Today, the Russians struck again at the special zone around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. A ‘Shahed’ drone struck one of the buildings of the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility. This is a facility of critical infrastructure. And an extremely despicable Russian strike,” he wrote.

According to the president, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Energy, and all our agencies are already working to ensure that each of our partners is aware of what has happened.

“Russia deliberately struck this specific nuclear infrastructure facility. As of now, there is no exceedance of background radiation levels. But there is definitely an exceedance of Russia’s already sky-high audacity. Ukrainian rescue workers put out the fire at this facility after the strike. And the world needs to take real new steps so that the Russians feel that their terrorist war is a blow to Russia itself,” the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy also reported that Russian strikes were carried out last night on other civilian facilities in 13 of our regions. In total, over the course of the week, Russia launched 88 missiles, over 3,250 attack drones, and about 1,800 guided aerial bombs against Ukraine.
