Russia has banned the export of jet fuel: how long will the restrictions remain in place?

Amid Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on its oil refineries and other energy infrastructure, Russia has banned the export of jet fuel until November 30, reports "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Russian propaganda media.
The measure aims to ensure stability in the domestic fuel market, the report notes.
The ban applies, in particular, to jet fuel purchased through exchange trading. Exceptions are made for fuel in the technical tanks of aircraft in transit, shipments of kerosene placed under customs procedures prior to the resolution taking effect, as well as for supplies under intergovernmental agreements.
Russia exports jet fuel primarily by rail to Central Asian countries—mainly Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Problems in the fuel market
The ban on jet fuel exports has become yet another restriction on the Russian fuel market: gasoline exports are already completely closed to all players, and the sale of diesel, marine fuel, and gas oils abroad is permitted only to producers.
The global jet fuel market is already experiencing a shortage—after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz during the war in the Middle East, airlines had unsold approximately 2 million tickets for May by the end of April compared to initial plans.
In recent months, Ukraine has intensified strikes on oil and gas facilities deep within Russian territory, seeking to disrupt key revenue streams that fund the war. Russian oil refineries were forced to cut back or completely halt production—as a result, diesel fuel production fell by about ten percent in May. Production had fallen by the same amount in April.
