On the night of June 4, 2026, a Russian drone attack caused damage to the KERNEL terminal at the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region.

This was reported by the company’s press service , according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The attack damaged part of the grain storage and transshipment infrastructure, leading to the spillage of products and disruptions in the terminal’s operations.

Part of the auxiliary storage facilities was also destroyed.

Impact on employees and company operations

None of the employees were injured. The company is currently working to mitigate the consequences of the attack, assessing the extent of the damage and the resulting losses.

“All contractual obligations to partners will be fulfilled on time, as KERNEL has an effective system for adapting its logistics chains to modern challenges,” the statement said.

History of previous attacks

A month earlier, KERNEL’s oil terminal on the Black Sea suffered significant damage from a Russian strike, which led to the suspension of its operations.

Direct hits damaged product storage tanks, from which over 1,100 tons of oil leaked.

Thanks to timely action, marine pollution was avoided. At that time, one employee sustained moderate injuries.

Additionally, as a result of another drone attack on May 18, the KERNEL grain elevator in the Khmelnytskyi region was damaged, but there were no casualties.
