Russia attacked power facilities: Five regions are experiencing power outages, and one power utility worker has been injured

Despite the absence of scheduled power outages in Ukraine, Russian shelling continues to target the country’s energy infrastructure. Due to damage to power facilities, some consumers in five regions are temporarily without power, and in Donetsk Oblast, an employee of an energy company was wounded during an attack.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.
Which regions are experiencing power outages
According to the Ministry of Energy, as a result of hostilities and Russian attacks, some consumers are temporarily without power in:
- Donetsk Oblast;
- Kharkiv Oblast;
- Sumy Oblast;
- Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
- Kherson Oblast.
The ministry notes that the emergency power outages are specifically due to damage to energy infrastructure caused by Russian shelling.
A power utility worker was injured in the Donetsk region
An employee of an energy company was injured during one of Russia’s attacks on an energy facility in the Donetsk region.
The man was hospitalized. Medical personnel are providing him with the necessary care.
Will there be power outages on August 6?
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that, as of August 6, no power outage schedules are expected.
At the same time, the situation in the power grid remains fluid due to ongoing Russian attacks.
Ukrainians are urged to monitor official announcements from their electricity distribution system operators in case of possible changes.

Energy workers continue emergency repair and restoration work
Specialists are working to address the consequences of the attacks in all regions where the security situation allows.
The main goal is to restore power to consumers as quickly as possible and get damaged power facilities back up and running.
Ukrainians are urged to conserve electricity
Electricity consumption continues to rise. Today, August 6, as of 9:30 a.m., it was 1.4% higher than at the same time yesterday. This is due to extremely hot weather in most regions of Ukraine, which is leading to widespread use of air conditioners by residential consumers and businesses.
Yesterday, August 5, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was at the same level as the previous day—Tuesday, August 4.
Due to the abnormal heat today, all regions of Ukraine (particularly Kyiv and the Kyiv region) are urged to use electricity sparingly between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
“Please postpone energy-intensive activities (doing laundry, heating the water heater, running the dishwasher, etc.) until nighttime, when the load on the power grid will decrease,” Ukrenergo requests.
The situation in the power grid may change, so it is advisable to monitor announcements on the websites and official social media pages of regional power companies.
Reducing the load will help power companies maintain system stability amid Russia’s ongoing attacks on critical infrastructure.
