Ukrainian law enforcement officers have served Russian propagandist Olga Skabeeva with new suspicions in absentia under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to the case file, the propagandist is a member of the Kremlin’s media pool, which uses her to massively disseminate information and psychological manipulations.
For example, it is documented that Skabeyeva repeatedly called for the capture of Kyiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and other large cities of Ukraine.
She also suggested that the Russian command destroy Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in order to cut off power to entire regions. To do this, Skabeyeva campaigned for the use of combined missile and drone strikes against key energy generating enterprises, especially during the cold season.
Skabeyeva regularly promotes these and other theses in the 60 Minutes program on one of the leading propaganda channels, Russia-1.
Forensic linguistic examinations initiated by the SBU confirmed the facts of the Russian’s information and subversive activities.
As a reminder, in 2024, Ukraine added a new section to the War & Sanctions portal – “Kremlin’s Mouthpieces”. Skabeyeva, along with Margarita Simonyan, Vladimir Solovyov, and Alexander Dugin, was among the first 55 Russian propagandists and media managers to appear on the site.
What is Skabeeva suspected of?
Based on the evidence collected, investigators notified Skabeyeva in absentia of suspicion under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- ч. 3 of Art. 110 – encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, which led to the death of people or other serious consequences;
- ч. 3 of Art. 436-2 – justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants, committed with the use of mass media;
- ч. 3 of Article 109 – actions aimed at the violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power committed with the use of mass media;
