Seasonal Jobs in Ukraine: OLX Investigates Which Job Openings Are the Most Popular

Traditionally, as summer approaches, the number of job listings for seasonal and temporary work on OLX Jobs increases. This is especially relevant for those looking for a side job. In May 2026, demand for such positions was high: for some jobs, there were nearly 20 responses per listing. OLX Jobs investigated how much employers are willing to pay and in which sectors, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Which seasonal job positions are in highest demand and how much do they pay?
“The largest number of seasonal job openings in May 2026 is for general laborers. The median salary for these positions is 18,700 UAH. We’re also seeing many similar listings in the‘EarlyCareer’ category, which offers positions for students and candidates with no experience. The median salary in this category is 24.3 thousand UAH,” reports OLX Job.
According to the study, there is also active demand for seasonal or temporary workers in the following roles:
- Salespeople, 24.8 thousand UAH
- Cooks, 33,000 UAH
- Drivers, 32,000 UAH
- Construction workers, 25,5 thousand UAH
- Cleaners, 19,000 UAH
- Porters, 24,500 UAH
- Waiters, 22,500 UAH
How the structure of the seasonal job market has changed since 2025
According to the study, the number of seasonal job openings in some professions has decreased compared to May of last year. In particular, the number of job openings for general laborers has decreased by 18%, but this subcategory remains the largest on the platform within the seasonal work segment. There was also a significant decrease in the number of job postings for construction workers (-32%), waitstaff (-22%), and security guards (-14%).
However, recruitment for certain positions was more active in May 2026. There was a noticeable increase in employer demand for loaders (68%), baristas (57%), cooks (23%), and tire technicians (21%).
“Despite changes in certain categories, the overall list of the most popular seasonal job openings remains virtually unchanged year after year. These are positions in logistics, retail, the hospitality industry, and construction,” the report states.

The Seasonal Job Market by Region in Ukraine
Kyiv Oblast leads in the number of seasonal job openings: it has the highest number of such job postings in Ukraine. There are also a large number of job openings in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts.
Next on the list by number are the Lviv, Poltava, Kharkiv, and Volyn regions. Overall, in most regions, the number of job openings is at last year’s level. A significant decrease in the number of seasonal job postings has been recorded in regions closer to the front lines: Donetsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv.
“At the same time, the highest median salaries are observed in western Ukraine: Ternopil Oblast—29,000 UAH, the highest figure in Ukraine in this segment. Volyn and Lviv regions rank second and third, with median salaries of 28,400 UAH and 27,300 UAH, respectively. In May 2026, salaries ranging from 26,000 to 26,500 UAH were offered in the Kyiv, Odesa, and Rivne regions. In Zakarpattia, the median wage for seasonal work is 24.5 thousand UAH,” reports OLX Robota.
As for the demand for seasonal work, it is highest in regions where the largest number of applications are received per vacancy, specifically in:
- Vinnytsia, with 16 applications per job posting
- Dnipropetrovsk and Rivne, 13 applications per job posting
- Chernivtsi and Odesa regions, 10 applications per posting
- Kyiv Oblast, 9 applications per job posting
“As summer approaches, seasonal employment remains one of the most dynamic segments of the labor market. Employers are actively seeking workers in the retail, food service, logistics, and service sectors, and the number of responses to individual job postings indicates a high level of interest among Ukrainians in temporary part-time work,” the report states.
At the same time, according to the study’s findings, the situation varies by region: the largest number of job openings is traditionally concentrated in major economic centers, while the highest salaries are offered primarily in the western regions of Ukraine.
