The U.S. has imposed new sanctions against Russian military entities

The United States has imposed new sanctions on Russian military entities. The sanctions were imposed for violations of the Iran, Syria, and North Korea Nonproliferation Act (INKSNA) and took effect on July 24, according to a State Department statement released on Tuesday, August 4, as reported by [Komersant] citing DW.
Army, Ministry of Defense departments, companies, and individuals
A number of structures and units of the Russian Armed Forces and the Russian Ministry of Defense have been blacklisted. Among others, the sanctions target the Russian Ground Forces, the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Directorate for Advanced Inter-Service Research and Special Projects of the Russian Ministry of Defense, and the 1061st Logistics Support Center.
Sanctions have also been imposed on the companies “Gideon Alpha” and “International Invest Company” LLC. Punitive measures have also been imposed on all legal successors, units, and subsidiaries of the aforementioned entities.
Among the individuals blacklisted are Russian citizens Andrei Gusev, Andrei Kosolapov, Vladislav Morozik, Oleksandr Prykhodko, and Serhiy Tsybarev, as well as citizens of Malaysia, North Korea, Taiwan, Syria, and Iran.
U.S. agencies and institutions are prohibited from cooperating with those on the list
As noted in the statement, U.S. agencies and institutions are prohibited from purchasing or entering into any contracts for the procurement of any goods, technologies, or services from those on the sanctions list. In addition, they are prohibited from providing any support to these entities, selling military-related products to them, or issuing licenses to them.
The Iran, North Korea, and Syria Nonproliferation Act (INKSNA) imposes sanctions on foreign entities and individuals for transferring to Iran, Syria, or the DPRK, or for receiving from them goods, services, or technologies that fall under various international arms control agreements or are capable of delivering cruise and ballistic missiles.
