Trump and Putin had an hour-long conversation: what is known about its results

U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation that lasted almost an hour. This was announced by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, according to Russian propaganda media, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to Ushakov, during the conversation, the American leader raised the issue of the possibility of a quick end to hostilities between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, Vladimir Putin said that Russia would not retreat from its “goals of eliminating the causes of the conflict.”
The presidential aide also noted that the talks between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul remain bilateral. According to him, during the conversation with Trump, they did not discuss the suspension of the supply of American weapons to Ukraine or possible dates for the next round of talks in Turkey.
Also, according to the Russian side, there was no talk of a possible personal meeting between Trump and Putin.
The presidents paid special attention to the situation in the Middle East, particularly in Iran. The Kremlin claims that Putin emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts in the region through diplomatic means.
In addition, Ushakov said that before speaking with Trump, Putin met with representatives of the Russian business community. During this meeting, a proposal was made to exchange film products that are close to “us and the Trump administration.”
According to an aide to the Russian leader, the US president “immediately reacted and said that he liked the idea.”
At the end of the conversation, Putin congratulated Donald Trump on the upcoming US Independence Day.
As a reminder, the planned conversation between the two leaders became known on July 3. Commenting on the call, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that there are “not many common themes” between Trump and Putin, as they are “very different people.”
