Law enforcers exposed a corruption scheme in the Holosiivskyi district shopping centre in Kyiv. The scheme participants were found to have $1.2 million in cash. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press centre of the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to the investigation, the scheme of illegal evasion from mobilisation was organised by three officials of the Holosiivskyi District Military and Civilian Conscription Committee and three civilians, who were detained.

Employees of the RCC and the head of the military medical commission of the same district created a criminal group. It provided “services” to men who tried to avoid military service. One of the defendants, the head of the MEC, who had already been suspected for similar actions, was removed from office but continued to influence the processes.

The group was organised by a civilian who searched for clients, collected the necessary documents and passed them to the TCC.

the “clients” were prepared with a package of military registration documents for their removal and exclusion from military registration. The price of a “white ticket” ranged from USD 2 to 15 thousand. During the searches, documents and records were seized from the defendants, which may indicate that they “helped” thousands of people liable for military service,” the statement said.

They also had more than $1.2 million and 45,000 euros in cash. In addition, 11 premium cars worth about $100,000 each were seized.

The defendants were served a notice of suspicion. The court is asked to choose a custody as a measure of restraint.

At the same time, two more employees of the same military registration and enlistment office were found to have entered false information that allowed them to evade military service and travel abroad. They were also served with a notice of suspicion.

The suspects face up to 15 years in prison.
