Ternopil Regional Administrative Office has a new head: whose candidacy was supported by the Cabinet of Ministers

The Cabinet of Ministers has supported Vyacheslav Nehoda ‘s candidacy for the post of head of the Ternopil Regional Military District Administration. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the a publication by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko on his Telegram channel on 16 July.

“The Cabinet of Ministers supported the Presidential Decree on the appointment of Vyacheslav Andronovych Nehoda as the head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration,” the statement reads.

It should be noted that the position of the head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration became vacant after its former head Volodymyr Trush was dismissed at the end of December 2023.

What we know about Vyacheslav Nehoda

Vyacheslav Nehoda was born on 25 May 1957 in the village of Borshchivka, Ternopil Oblast. He graduated from the Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute, the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine.

In 2006, Mr Nehoda headed the secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government. From 2008 to 2010, he was Director of the Department of Regional Policy and Local Self-Government of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Since 2008, he has served as Deputy Minister of Regional Development, and since 2014 – First Deputy and Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. In 2023, he was dismissed from his post due to a scandal involving First Deputy Minister Vasyl Lozynskyi, who was caught taking a $400,000 bribe.
