hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine Antal Heizer was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to “unfriendly statements by Budapest”. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

During a meeting with the Hungarian ambassador, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko said that it is obvious to the Ukrainian side that the ruling political forces in Hungary are trying to drag Ukraine into the internal political struggle under any circumstances.

The ministry emphasized that since Kyiv has never allowed itself to interfere in the internal affairs of any country, including Hungary, such attempts by the government were worrying.

“But now, all these clumsy ways to create an image of an enemy out of Ukraine, which is fighting a real enemy of the whole of Europe and the civilized world, look simply pathetic and offensive, especially to the Hungarian people, who, unlike biased politicians, are actually a European nation that, through the volunteer movement, is helping the Ukrainian people with everything it can to defeat the Russian enemy and prevent the Russian occupiers from returning to the streets of Budapest,” the Foreign Ministry emphasized.

It should be noted that shortly after the referendum on Ukraine’s membership in the EU, Hungary launched a campaign comparing the leader of the opposition party Tisa, Peter Magyar, to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and presenting them as a threat.

Posters with the words “Like two eggs” were placed on the streets, with Zelenskyy and Magyar sitting in eggshells and holding Ukrainian flags. The President of Ukraine was signed by his surname, but the opposition leader was called the “Hungarian Zelensky.”
