Ukraine’s first gold medal at the tournament

Livach’s gold medal was the first gold medal for the Ukrainian national team at this year’s European Wrestling Championships.

Even before the final bouts, the UWW reported that the Ukrainian team had advanced to four of the five women’s finals across five weight classes, which already indicated a strong performance by the blue-and-yellows at the continental championship.

Her victory at the 2026 European Championships made Oksana Livach a three-time European champion. She had previously won the continental title in 2019 and 2025.

She also has silver medals from European Championships in her career.
