The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine reported that as of November 11, farmers sowed 6.2 million hectares of winter crops, which is 94.5% of the planned amount, [Kommersant] reports.

The bulk is winter wheat – 4.5 million hectares, followed by rapeseed (1.1 million hectares), barley (544.2 thousand hectares ) and rye (66.1 thousand hectares).

Where is sown the most

Odesa, Dnipro and Mykolaiv regions are the leaders of the sowing campaign.
At the same time, sowing has already been completed in Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Rivne and Chernihiv regions.

This year’s sowing pace is ahead of last year’s

For comparison, as of October 21, farmers sowed 4.8 mln hectares, and by the end of September, industry experts predicted only 5.42 mln hectares for the 2026 season.

The high pace of the autumn campaign is being recorded despite complications due to power outages, fuel shortages and limited logistics. The condition of the crops will determine not only next year’s yields but also the stability of grain exports, which remain one of the main sources of foreign exchange earnings for the country.
