Temperatures in Ukraine Will Soar to 40: A Meteorologist Says When the Heat Will Subside

In the coming days, Ukraine will remain among the hottest countries in Europe. In many regions, temperatures will rise to 39–40 degrees, but by the end of this week, the weather conditions will begin to change.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a forecast by meteorologist Natalia Didenko.
When the temperature reaches 40
According to Natalia Didenko’s forecast, on Wednesday, August 5, the maximum air temperature will be:
- 32–39°C in most regions;
- in some places— up to 40°C.
At the same time, no significant precipitation is expected in most regions.
The meteorologist notes that in the coming days, Ukraine will remain one of the hottest countries in Europe.
When will the heat start to subside?
According to Didenko, August 5, 6, and, to some extent, August 7 will be the hottest days.
The first changes in weather conditions are expected as early as:
- August 7 —in the western regions;
- August 8–9 — in most regions of Ukraine.

That is when a fresher air mass will begin to flow into the country, bringing a noticeable drop in temperature.
“We only have three days left to hold out. As early as August 7 in the west, and on August 8–9 in most regions of Ukraine, the heat will be pushed aside by a new, cooler air mass,” noted Natalia Didenko.
Where to Expect Rain and Thunderstorms
Along with the cooling trend, the western regions are expected to see:
- brief showers;
- thunderstorms;
- a drop in air temperature.
Later, the weather front will spread across most of Ukraine.
What will the weather be like in Kyiv?
Hot and dry weather will also persist in the capital in the coming days.
Expected:
- August 5 — around 35°C;
- August 6 — up to 37°C in some areas;
- on the night of August 7 — 21…23°C.
On the afternoon of August 7, a weather front will approach Kyiv, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms.
By August 8, daytime temperatures will drop to a more comfortable 26… 28°C.
