Hot weather is returning to Ukraine: Weather forecast for August 15–16
15 August 02:54
After several cool nights, hot weather is returning to Ukraine. Temperatures will rise the most on Sunday, August 16, when thermometers in the western regions could reach 35°.
According to a forecast by meteorologist Igor Kibalchich, the weather will be influenced by an area of high atmospheric pressure and a dry air mass, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
Therefore, no significant precipitation is expected, and winds will be light in most regions.
How Much Will Temperatures Rise?
The most noticeable temperature spike is expected in western Ukraine. On Friday night, temperatures there are forecast to range from 7° to 12°, and by Sunday afternoon, the air could warm up to 30–35°.
Thus, the temperature range in the western regions over the weekend could reach 28 degrees.
At the same time, the official forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center is somewhat more conservative. The agency expects temperatures in most regions to range from 27 to 33° on August 16.
Both forecasts agree on the main points—the weekend will mostly be dry, and Sunday will be significantly hotter than Saturday.

No significant precipitation is expected in Ukraine on August 15–16. Due to the influence of high atmospheric pressure, mostly clear or sunny weather will prevail.
During the night and early morning hours, short-lived fog may form in low-lying areas, as well as near rivers and bodies of water.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, a change in the weather is possible on August 17. During the day, short-lived rain and thunderstorms are forecast in some areas of the western and northern regions.
Where the Fire Risk Will Increase
A prolonged period without precipitation, combined with rising temperatures, will cause grass and forest litter to dry out. As a result, the risk of wildfires will increase in natural ecosystems.
Ukrainians are advised not to light fires near forests and fields, not to leave campfires unattended, and not to burn dry vegetation.
Thus, Saturday will be mostly warm and comfortable, but by Sunday, the heat will return to most regions. According to one forecast, highs of 35° are possible in western Ukraine, while the official forecast predicts highs of up to 33° in most regions.
