Cooler weather is coming to Ukraine: where to expect rain, thunderstorms, and squalls this weekend

This weekend, June 13–14, the heatwave in Ukraine will ease significantly. Air temperatures will drop in almost all regions, reaching a comfortable 17–23 degrees in most areas.
This was reported by meteorologist Natalka Didenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to her forecast, only on Saturday, June 13, warmer weather will linger in the east and southeast—reaching 26–29 degrees.
At the same time, some regions will experience brief showers with thunderstorms, and hail and squalls are possible during the storms.
What will the weather be like this weekend?
Nataliya Didenko notes that the heat in Ukraine will significantly subside over the weekend. After a period of thunderstorms and temperature fluctuations, the air will become cooler, and daytime temperatures in most regions will be moderate.
On Saturday, June 13, brief showers, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected in eastern Ukraine. In the evening, precipitation may reach the western regions. No significant precipitation is forecast for the rest of the country.
“There are many thunderstorms in Ukraine today, so check where you parked your car—keep it away from large structures. Protect your vegetable garden if possible, as there is a chance of hail,” warned Natalka Didenko.
According to her, on Saturday the rain will be localized, but in some places it may be accompanied by thunderstorms.
“Short-lived rains, sometimes with thunderstorms, will occur on June 13 in eastern Ukraine and in the evening in western regions. The rest of the country will see no precipitation,” the meteorologist noted.

Where it will rain on Sunday
On Sunday, June 14, the precipitation zone will shift. Rain and thunderstorms are expected in the western, northern, and central regions.
In the south and east of Ukraine on Sunday, according to the forecast, there will be no significant precipitation.
During thunderstorms, the meteorologist does not rule out hail and squalls, so Ukrainians are advised to be careful, especially when outdoors or on the road.
Air temperature on June 13–14
In most regions of Ukraine, the air temperature this weekend will be:
- 17–23 degrees.
In the east and southeast, it will be even warmer on Saturday:
- 26–29 degrees.
However, the heat is expected to ease off there as well in the coming days.
Weather in Kyiv
No significant precipitation is expected in Kyiv on Saturday, June 13. On Sunday, June 14, rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the capital.
The air temperature in Kyiv over the weekend will be cool and comfortable—around 20 degrees during the day.
The wind is expected to be northwesterly, moderate, but gusty in places.
