From the temporarily occupied Crimea to Belgorod: where Ukraine has attacked Russian military targets
14 April 17:40
On April 13–14, Ukrainian forces carried out a series of strikes against Russian radar stations, anti-aircraft systems, and ammunition depots in the occupied territories and in Russia. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Geography of the strikes
The operations covered several areas:
- temporarily occupied Crimea
- Belgorod Oblast
- Luhansk Oblast
- Donetsk Oblast
- Zaporizhzhia Oblast
This indicates a wide geographic range of targets—from the front lines to rear areas.
Which systems were hit
According to military sources, the following were hit:
- the Nebo-U radar station in Crimea
- airspace control radars and Kasta-2E in the Belgorod region
- the Tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile system in the Luhansk region
These systems are key to detecting air targets and providing air defense.
Strike on drones
A separate focus is on destroying drone infrastructure:
- the area of Donetsk International Airport—storage sites for attack UAVs were struck
- ammunition and drone depots near:
- Azov (Zaporizhzhia region)
- Urzuf
- Kulykivka (Donetsk region)
These facilities were used for storing and launching drones.
What does this mean
The series of strikes has several possible objectives:
- weakening Russia’s air defense by destroying radars
- reducing the intensity of drone attacks
- disrupting logistics—destroying ammunition depots
- expanding the strike zone—including Russian territory
Such operations are typically part of a systematic campaign to wear down the enemy’s military infrastructure.
