Attempts by some members of parliament to secure the resignation of Education Minister Oksen Lisovyi have so far been unsuccessful due to procedural obstacles.

This was stated in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian" by Anton Yatsenko, a member of parliament and co-chair of the Interfactional Deputy Group “Preservation of Higher Education Institutions and Prevention of Theft of Their Property.”

“It (the resolution — ed.) is blocked in Babak’s committee (Serhiy Babak, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science, and Innovation — ed.),” the MP said.

Yatsenko intends to continue working with his colleagues in parliament to unblock consideration of the resolution and bring it to a vote in the plenary hall.

In his view, the situation in the education sector requires not only personnel changes but also a full-scale audit of the ministry’s activities and those of its structural units.
