Yulia Svyrydenko May Become Head of Naftogaz — Zheleznyak

Former Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko may become the head of Naftogaz of Ukraine. Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced on social media that her candidacy is under consideration, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
If approved, Yulia Svyrydenko could lead the national joint-stock company first as acting chair and then as full-fledged CEO.
“Two additional sources have confirmed that the appointment of Yulia Svyrydenko is currently being considered, first as acting chair of Naftogaz and then as permanent CEO,” the lawmaker’s post states.
The previous head of Naftogaz was Serhiy Koretskyi, who replaced Yulia Svyrydenko as prime minister last month. The president also offered the former prime minister the position of Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S., as Olga Stefanishyna was preparing to resign amid preparations to announce new charges against her. However, according to rumors, Svyrydenko declined the offer.

Yulia Svyrydenko: What Is Known About Her
She was born in 1985 in Chernihiv. She earned a degree in “Antitrust Management” from the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, and in 2009 completed a full course in accounting at the Kyiv School of Market Economy. She completed courses at the State Property Fund of Ukraine and is a certified specialist in the valuation of real estate and equipment, as well as in the valuation of businesses, securities, intangible assets, and intellectual property (2009, 2011). She completed a series of training courses on land valuation at the Kyiv International Institute of Business.
She began her career in 2008 as a financial economist at the Ukrainian-Andorran joint venture JSC “AMP” (Kyiv). She subsequently worked as an appraiser at the Chernihiv Intercity Bureau of Technical Inventory and as deputy director of Eco-Vtor LLC (Kyiv). In 2011, she was appointed head of the Permanent Representative Office of Chernihiv in Wuxi (PRC), the only representative office of a Ukrainian city in the PRC (on a voluntary basis). Since 2015, she has held leadership positions in the Chernihiv Regional State Administration: she headed the Department of Economic Development, served as first deputy head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, and from July through December 2018, served as acting head of the regional state administration.
From March to September 2019, she served as director of Sidko Ukraine LLC, a company specializing in the production of feed for wild birds and the processing of organic products.
Since September 29, 2019, she has served as Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture of Ukraine.
On December 24, 2019, she was elected Chair of the Board of the Ukrainian State Compulsory Social Insurance Fund for Unemployment. Member of the delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, representative in the working subgroup on socio-economic issues.
Since July 22, 2020, she has served as First Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture of Ukraine.
By decree of the President of Ukraine on December 22, 2020, she was appointed Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
On November 4, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Yulia Svyrydenko as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy.
On July 17, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada confirmed Yulia Svyrydenko as Prime Minister of Ukraine. She was dismissed on July 14.
