The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck an oil depot and a fuel terminal in Novorossiysk: what are the consequences?
23 May 09:15
On the night of Saturday, May 23, Ukrainian drones attacked Novorossiysk, causing a fire at an oil depot and a fuel terminal. The Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters claims that the fire was caused not by the drone strikes themselves, but by falling debris from the drones. Two residents who were on the street at the time of the drone attack were injured and hospitalized. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Russian propaganda media.
It is noted that temporary restrictions have been imposed at the airports in Vladikavkaz, Grozny, and Magas due to the UAV attack.

According to media reports, the “Grushova” oil terminal caught fire—it is the largest oil storage facility in the Caucasus, part of the “Chernomortransneft” company, a subsidiary of “Transneft.”
Strategic facility
The Grushova terminal has underground and above-ground storage tanks with a total capacity of approximately 1.2 million tons of petroleum products. It houses 50 reinforced concrete tanks with a capacity of 500,000 cubic meters and 14 steel tanks with a capacity of 700,000 cubic meters. In peacetime, the terminal serves as a collection point for the Novorossiysk oil port.
Not the first strike on Novorossiysk
The previous evening, Novorossiysk Mayor Andriy Kravchenko reported that a drone attack had been repelled—strolls along the waterfront were banned in the city, and all services were placed on high alert.
In early April, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had already attacked facilities in Novorossiysk belonging to the international oil transportation company “Caspian Pipeline Consortium” (CPC)—civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, was also damaged at that time.
