Tuition costs at Lviv Polytechnic depend on various factors. And although exact prices for next year are not yet available, certain conclusions on this matter can already be drawn—based on figures for 2025. This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by Natalia Shakhovska , rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

Which majors have become the most expensive and vice versa

The university head explained that, in general, the cost of tuition at Lviv Polytechnic depends:

  • not only on the major;
  • but also on the specific educational program and its popularity.

According to her,the most expensive programsduring the current academic year are those related to:

  • artificial intelligence (AI);
  • transportation technologies;
  • and psychology.

“Meanwhile, engineering fields, particularly materials science, remain the most affordable,” Shakhovska said.

How much does a full-time bachelor’s program cost and who is it for?

“Tuition prices for this year aren’t available yet, so I’ll cite some figures for 2025,” noted the rector of Lviv Polytechnic.

So, if we focus “exclusively on the figures for applicants to full-time bachelor’s programs,” the highest tuition at the university last year was for the “Artificial Intelligence Systems” program.

A year of study there cost 69,900 hryvnias.

Meanwhile, the cost of training specialists in transportation technologies for road transport was 50,000 hryvnias (per academic year).

“As for psychology, the tuition cost for future full-time bachelor’s students was 49,500 hryvnias,” Shakhovska shared.

At the same time, engineering programs remain significantly more affordable for applicants, she noted.

For example, tuition for the “Applied Materials Science” program in the full-time bachelor’s program costs 38,900 hryvnias.

Prices for many other technical majors, such as construction and civil engineering, electrical engineering, and thermal power engineering, have also been set at this same level— 38,900 hryvnias, the rector concluded.
