According to a forecast by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on Wednesday, May 27, brief showers will occur during the day across most of the country, and thunderstorms are possible in some regions, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
Weather in Ukraine on May 27
On Wednesday, May 27, brief showers are expected in some northern regions overnight. During the day, precipitation will spread across nearly the entire territory of Ukraine.
Thunderstorms are forecast for the central and southern regions and the Carpathian foothills.
Winds will be westerly and northwesterly, 7–12 m/s. Strong gusts of wind—15–20 m/s—are possible across Ukraine during the day.
Air temperature:
- at night — 11…16°;
- during the day — 18–23°;
- in Zakarpattia and the south of the country — 23…28°.
Where thunderstorms and squalls are expected
The weather will be most unstable on May 27 in the central and southern regions, as well as in the Carpathian foothills. That is where forecasters predict thunderstorms.
Due to wind gusts of up to 15–20 m/s, Ukrainians should be cautious outdoors: do not park cars under old trees, avoid standing near advertising structures, and do not approach damaged power lines.
Such weather conditions may complicate traffic and cause local damage due to strong winds.
Weather in Kyiv on May 27
No significant precipitation is forecast for Kyiv on Wednesday night. Short-lived showers are expected in the capital during the day.
The wind will be from the northwest, 7–12 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s possible during the day.
Air temperature in Kyiv:
- at night — 14–16°;
- during the day — 21–23°C.
According to data from the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, the highest temperature in Kyiv on May 27 was recorded in 2007—33.6°C—and the lowest nighttime temperature was recorded in 1904, when it was only 1.7°C.

On Thursday, May 28, the weather in Ukraine will become cooler. Rain is expected overnight in the south, east of the country, and in the Carpathians.
During the day, light, brief showers and thunderstorms are possible in most regions, except for the southern regions and Zakarpattia.
The wind will remain northwesterly, 7–12 m/s. During the day, gusts of 15–20 m/s are possible in some areas of most regions.
Air temperature on May 28:
- at night — 7…12°;
- during the day — 13…18°;
- in Zakarpattia and the south of the country at night — 11…16°;
- during the day in Zakarpattia and the south — 18…23°.
Weather in Kyiv on May 28
There will be no precipitation in the capital on Thursday night. Light, brief showers are forecast for Kyiv during the day.
Wind: northwest, 7–12 m/s.
Air temperature:
- at night — 10–12°;
- during the day — 15…17°.
Compared to Wednesday, it will be noticeably cooler in Kyiv.
Ukrainians are warned about strong winds
Due to forecasted wind gusts of up to 15–20 m/s in many regions, people should be cautious. During squalls, it is best to stay away from trees, power lines, construction sites, and temporary structures.
Drivers should exercise caution on the roads, especially during rain and thunderstorms. Wet roads, poor visibility, and strong crosswinds can make driving difficult.
