Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Vsevolod Kniazev was detained on the border with Romania. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" citing the Telegram channel of journalist Vitaliy Glagola.

“According to my sources, Vsevolod Knyazev was detained by border guards in the village of Solotvyno in Zakarpattia, 1 km from the border with Romania. According to sources, it happened today, at 16:40,” Glagola wrote.

The journalist added that the former head of the Supreme Court was travelling in a Volkswagen as a passenger.

Vsevolod Knyazev is currently in the Solotvyno department of the Border Guard Service. They are clarifying the purpose of his stay near the state border and checking the version of a possible attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine.

By the way, the detention of the former official by the border guards was denied by the Babel media outlet, citing its own anonymous sources.

It should be noted that there has been no official information about the detention of Vsevolod Knyazev.

As you know, Vsevolod Kniazev lost his position as the court’s chairman after being detained by the NABU for taking a $2.7 million bribe in May 2023. In January 2024, the court released him on bail of UAH 18 million after a year in pre-trial detention.
