Cabinet of Ministers Introduces New Loan Terms for Independent Heating Systems: Details
31 July 22:55
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has expanded the government program to support citizens who plan to install independent heating systems in private homes. From now on, Ukrainians can obtain low-interest loans to purchase solid-fuel stoves, chimneys, and necessary materials, as well as for their installation, with partial compensation from the government.
This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
What types of loans are available?
Under the new rules of the government program, citizens can apply for a loan:
- up to 250,000 hryvnias;
- up to 480,000 hryvnias.
The funds received can be used for:
- purchasing a solid-fuel stove;
- purchasing a chimney;
- purchasing related materials;
- installing an independent heating system.
What compensation will the government provide?
One of the program’s main benefits is partial repayment of the loan by the government.
The program provides for:
- 10% compensation of the principal amount of the loan;
- 20% compensation —depending on the loan amount.
Preferential interest rates have also been established:
- 0% in the first year;
- 5% in the second year;
- 7% in the third year.
In this way, the government aims to make the installation of autonomous heating more affordable for Ukrainian families.
Who is eligible for the program
At the same time, there is a restriction regarding the size of the home.
Homeowners with homes up to 300 square meters in size are eligible for government support.
Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi urged Ukrainians planning to switch to independent heating to take advantage of the program’s new opportunities.
“I urge citizens who want or have planned to install autonomous heating to take advantage of the government support program,” Koretsky emphasized.
Why the government is expanding the program
The decision was made amid preparations for the new heating season and the need to increase households’ energy independence.
Installing independent heating reduces dependence on centralized heating systems and increases the resilience of homes in the event of potential power outages.
Detailed terms for participating in the program are expected to be announced after the relevant government decisions take effect.
