Scammers are disguising emails as official communications from judicial authorities in order to steal personal data, gain access to bank accounts, or infect devices with malware.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Justice has issued a warning about a new online scam. Fraudsters have begun sending emails that appear to be official notifications from judicial authorities. In these emails, recipients are informed of an alleged summons to court in a criminal proceeding and are urged to click on a link or open an attached file, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The ministry emphasizes that through such messages, the scammers aim to gain access to users’ personal data and bank accounts or to download malicious software onto their computers or smartphones.

What to Do If You Receive an Email “Summoning You to Court”: How to Avoid Identity Theft
The Ministry of Justice urges Ukrainians not to engage with such messages. If you receive an email like this, it is important not to click on any links it contains, not to open any attached files, not to install any programs or apps, and not to reply to it.
The ministry notes that if you receive such an email, you should delete it as soon as possible and, if necessary, verify the information through official sources.
Procedure for Receiving Court Summonses and Notices: How the Court Notifies You of a Court Hearing
The Ministry of Justice reminded the public that a genuine summons to court is sent exclusively in the form of a court summons via official communication channels. This may be a certified letter, a notification via the “Electronic Court” subsystem’s online portal (for registered users only), or an SMS message from the sender SUDPOVISTKA.
Where to Turn If You’ve Been a Victim of Fraud
If you have opened a suspicious email or believe you have fallen victim to online fraud, the Ministry of Justice recommends reporting it to the Cyber Police as soon as possible using a special form.
The ministry urges Ukrainians to be more vigilant and always verify information through official sources. Avoid any interaction with emails that urge you to immediately click on a link or download a document.
