The Ministry of Defense simplifies the return of property by servicemen

The Ministry of Defense has simplified the return of “state-owned” property by the military. From now on, Ukrainian soldiers will only return body armor and helmets after service. This was announced by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“We are taking another step in simplifying the reporting of property for our military. From now on, only bulletproof vests and helmets must be returned after service. Sleeping bags, mats, flasks and other things will remain with the soldiers. They will no longer have to think about handing them over,” he wrote on Facebook.

The changes are being implemented by order of the Defense Ministry, Umerov noted.

“Our soldiers have been waiting for these changes. They should focus on combat missions, and we will always provide new uniforms,” he added.

It should be noted that the military complained a lot about the complicated system of property reporting.

It should be noted that in October 2023, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine simplified the procedure for writing off military property that was lost in the course of hostilities. Since then, it is no longer necessary to conduct a separate investigation for each unit and obtain approval from senior management, and the write-off process has been reduced to approximately 2-3 weeks.
