Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv is ready for any format of peace talks aimed at ending the war. At the same time, Ukraine is counting on the United States to step up its diplomatic efforts in the very near future.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Ukrainian president’s evening address.

Zelenskyy: Ukraine Is Ready for All Formats of Negotiations

According to the head of state, Ukrainian authorities are in daily contact with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump to seek new diplomatic solutions.

The president noted that during the talks in Washington, the parties discussed mechanisms for creating the conditions for a genuine negotiation process.

“We are in daily contact with representatives of President Trump. This is important. At the meeting in Washington, we discussed how to create new circumstances that would allow for genuine diplomacy. We are working to make all of this a reality,” Zelenskyy said.

Who Briefed Him on the Negotiation Process

The president said he received a briefing on the status of the negotiation track from:

  • Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate;
  • Defense Minister Rustem Umerov;
  • Davyd Arakhamia, head of the parliamentary faction;
  • diplomat Serhiy Kyslytsia.

According to Zelenskyy, they provided an update on the progress of the negotiations, as well as Russia’s position regarding possible diplomatic contacts.

Ukraine Expects U.S. Engagement in August

The president emphasized that Kyiv is counting on the active participation of its American partners in the negotiations as early as this month.

“We will be ready for meetings in any format. We expect that now, in August, Witkoff and Kushner will be active,” the head of state said.

According to media reports, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner may visit Kyiv in the second half of August during events marking Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Ukraine is also working with other international partners

In addition to the U.S., Kyiv continues its diplomatic efforts with countries in the Middle East.

According to Zelenskyy, the Gulf states could contribute both to supporting peace initiatives and to addressing Ukraine’s security needs.

Earlier, the president also held a phone conversation with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, during which the parties discussed further cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.
