On a Ryanair flight from Greece to Germany, a window shattered during the flight, and a passenger sitting by the window was sucked out of the plane. The incident occurred on Friday, July 10, according to [Komersant], citing DW.

According to eyewitness accounts, the head and shoulders of a 61-year-old Serbian man were outside the plane, and several passengers barely managed to pull him back into the cabin. Oxygen masks dropped from the plane, which was flying from Thessaloniki to Memmingen in southern Germany. The pilot aborted the flight and returned to the departure airport.

The injured passenger was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Thessaloniki; he sustained no serious injuries. A replacement plane transported the remaining passengers to Germany.

According to Greek media reports, the incident occurred over North Macedonia at an altitude of 6,000 meters aboard a Boeing 737-800. Preliminary reports indicate that the window was damaged by a part that broke off from the aircraft’s engine. An investigation into the incident has been launched.

Ryanair stated only that a passenger window lost pressure shortly after takeoff.
