A total of 1,151 applications have already been submitted for “Tysiachovesna,” the first full-scale program to support Ukrainian culture, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“This year, we are launching the first full-scale program to support Ukrainian culture, ‘Tysyachovesna.’ Billions of hryvnias will be guaranteed to be allocated annually to the creation of cultural products. The program covers seven areas, ranging from films, TV series, and animation to music, performing and visual arts, as well as the creation of content for social media. We have already received 1,151 applications. The review of applications is ongoing, so there will be more. We will present the final results on June 12,” he wrote.

Zelenskyy noted that during this initial peak of the program, more than 17% of the projects are debuts.

“Thank you for such active participation in the program right from the start. The development of contemporary Ukrainian culture, support for our creators and projects, and the creation of new Ukrainian content—these are an important part of our strength. It is especially valuable to see that even in the midst of a full-scale war, creative energy in Ukraine is not fading. Thank you to everyone working to ensure that the Ukrainian voice is heard even more strongly through creativity,” the president emphasized.

According to her, the largest number of applications were in the following categories: audiovisual shows and videos for social media—270 applications; feature films and series—238 applications; non-fiction (documentary) films and series – 180 applications.

“Starting June 17, projects will be evaluated by over 120 independent experts in the cultural sector. After that, projects that score 60 points will advance to the third stage—public pitch sessions and presentations,” Berezhna noted.

As a reminder, on April 3, the Ministry of Culture launched the call for applications for the initiative to create Ukrainian cultural content (formerly “1,000 Hours of Ukrainian Content,” now “Tysiachovesna”). The application period ran until June 4, and the final project pitch will take place August 12–16.

The 2026 state budget allocates 4 billion hryvnias for the implementation of this program. According to Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna, this year a maximum of 80% of the 4 billion hryvnias—that is, 3.2 billion hryvnias—will be allocated to the “Tysyachovesna” program.

Berezhna also reported that the ministry will propose allocating funds for the “Tysiachovesna” program in the 2027 state budget.
