It’s Not Just the Volgograd Oil Refinery: The General Staff Reveals All the Targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Large-Scale Night Operation

On the night of July 31, 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes against a number of key military and fuel-and-energy facilities in Russia and the occupied territories. Among the targets struck were one of Russia’s largest oil refineries, an electronic warfare complex, an ammunition depot, and a Russian military command post.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Volgograd Oil Refinery Struck
According to the General Staff, units of the Armed Forces successfully struck the “Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka” oil refinery in Volgograd.
A fire broke out on the plant’s premises following the strike.
The Volgograd oil refinery is one of Russia’s largest oil refining facilities. Its production capacity allows it to process approximately 15 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
The facility produces:
- gasoline for passenger vehicles;
- diesel fuel;
- aviation fuel.
According to the General Staff, the refinery’s products are used to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.

“Pole-21” Electronic Warfare Complex Struck
In addition to the strike on the oil refinery, the Ukrainian military struck the Russian “Pole-21” electronic warfare complex near Holubivka in the Luhansk region.
The system is designed to counter navigation systems and jam high-precision weapons.
An ammunition depot and a command post were also struck
The General Staff also reported the successful destruction of:
- an ammunition depot near Naumivka in the temporarily occupied Crimea;
- a Russian military command post in the Bakhmut area of Donetsk Oblast.
Information regarding the final consequences and the extent of the damage inflicted is currently being verified.

“Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka” is one of Russia’s key oil refineries.
